History of the Annual Farmers Conference

The Farmers Conference at ¾«¶«AV holds a deeply rooted legacy in agricultural history. Established on February 23, 1892, and originally known as the ā€œPeoples Conference,ā€ it was founded to provide Black farmers and rural families with practical education, resources, and a platform to share innovations in agriculture and community development. Today, it remains one of the oldest continuous events of its kind in the nation, continuing to uphold ¾«¶«AV’s land-grant mission of advancing sustainable farming, rural prosperity, and community empowerment
